At 3Encores, one of our passions is the equestrian sport of 3-day eventing, a sport that many of our equestrian clients compete in.

For our clients and friends outside the equestrian world, eventing is an equestrian sport following the rule of 3, and tests both horse and rider’s control, connection and commitment. The sport features horse and rider pairings in competition against other horse and riders, and comes from a long tradition spanning decades. All pairings enter each event as equals. They compete across the three areas of equestrian sport: dressage (a set series of movements performed in an enclosed arena), cross-country (prove the speed, endurance, and jumping ability of the horse over varied terrain and obstacles), and show jumping (colored fences usually made up of lightweight rails that are easily knocked down).

October is a great month for the eventing community! We’re so excited about the Fair Hill Horse Trials, a major eventing competition October 15-18 in Maryland. Our client Buck Davidson and his awesome team will be competing, including Savannah “Woodge” Fulton will be competing her own Captain Jack in the CCI3*, and student Caroline Martin will be competing Center Stage & Spring Easy in the CCI3* and Effervescent in the CCI2*. Buck plans on competing multiple horses in the CCI3* including Park Trader, The Apprentice, Be Mine and Wiley Post.
